Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on level concrete pad or approved mounting system.

  1. Position unit: Ensure minimum clearance of 24 inches on all sides for airflow.
  2. Connect refrigerant lines: Use clean, dry copper tubing; braze with nitrogen purge.
  3. Connect electrical: Install disconnect box per local codes; connect to unit terminals.
  4. Connect condensate drain: Ensure proper slope away from unit.
  5. Evacuate and charge system: Deep vacuum to 500 microns; charge with R-410A to specified weight.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified HVAC technician. Follow all safety codes.

First-Time Setup

After installation, perform system startup and checkout.

  1. Power on system: Turn on disconnect box and indoor unit power.
  2. Set thermostat: Configure for cooling mode with desired temperature.
  3. Check operation: Verify compressor and fan start; listen for unusual noises.
  4. Measure performance: Check superheat/subcooling; verify airflow at registers.
  5. Test safety controls: Confirm high/low pressure switches, thermostat functions.

CAUTION! Do not operate without proper refrigerant charge. Ensure electrical connections are tight.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary control via compatible thermostat. Unit includes internal safety controls.

Thermostat Settings: COOL mode, FAN (Auto/On), temperature setpoint.

Unit Controls: High-pressure switch, low-pressure switch, compressor overload, fan cycle control.

Configuration: No user-adjustable dip switches; factory-set for standard operation.

LED Indicator: Service LED on control board flashes codes for diagnostics.

Connecting Components

Connect to indoor air handler/furnace, thermostat, power supply, and condensate drain.

  1. Turn off all power before making connections.
  2. Refrigerant lines: Connect liquid and suction lines to matching indoor coil ports.
  3. Thermostat wires: Connect R, C, Y, G terminals per wiring diagram.
  4. Power wiring: Use copper conductors rated for 60°C minimum; include disconnect.
  5. Drain line: Connect to indoor unit drain pan; trap if required.

Tip: Label all wires before disconnecting. Verify polarity and voltage.

Operation

Designed for automatic operation via thermostat.

  1. Set thermostat to COOL and desired temperature below room temperature.
  2. Fan will start, followed by compressor after short delay.
  3. System runs until setpoint reached, then cycles off.
  4. Fan may continue (if set to ON) or stop (if set to AUTO).
  5. For heating (if heat pump model), set to HEAT mode.
  6. Emergency heat available on some models (uses auxiliary heat strips).

WARNING! Do not set thermostat below 60°F for extended periods. Avoid frequent cycling.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures efficiency and longevity.

CAUTION! Turn off power before any maintenance. Do not use pressure washer on coil.

Care & Cleaning

Keep unit clean for optimal performance.

  1. Outdoor coil: Gently rinse with garden hose to remove dirt and pollen.
  2. Cabinet: Wipe with damp cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners.
  3. Surrounding area: Maintain clear space; trim plants and remove leaves.
  4. Winter (if unused): Cover unit with breathable cover to prevent debris.

CAUTION! Do not use chemicals or solvents. Ensure unit is dry before operating.
