Installation Guidelines

Unpack and inspect unit for shipping damage. Select appropriate location.

  1. Position unit: Place on level concrete pad or approved mounting system.
  2. Connect refrigerant lines: Use clean, dehydrated copper tubing of correct size.
  3. Connect electrical: Follow local codes; connect to disconnect switch and thermostat.
  4. Connect condensate drain: Install 3/4" PVC pipe with proper slope.
  5. Evacuate and charge: Evacuate system to 500 microns; charge with R-410A.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified HVAC technician. Disconnect all power before servicing.

First-Time Startup

After installation, perform initial startup procedure.

  1. Verify installation: Check all connections, refrigerant charge, and electrical.
  2. Set thermostat: Place in OFF position before restoring power.
  3. Restore power: Turn on disconnect switch and indoor unit power.
  4. Test operation: Set thermostat to COOL mode, set temperature below room temp.
  5. Check performance: Verify proper airflow, temperature drop, and condensate drainage.

CAUTION! Do not operate without proper refrigerant charge. Ensure condensate drain is clear.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary control through connected thermostat. Unit includes high and low pressure switches, compressor protection, and fan delay.

Thermostat Settings: COOL, OFF, FAN AUTO/ON modes. Temperature setpoint adjustment.

Unit Controls: No user-serviceable controls inside unit. All adjustments must be made at thermostat or by qualified technician.

LED Indicator: Green LED indicates unit has power. Blinking patterns indicate specific fault codes.

Connecting to Thermostat

Compatible with most 24V thermostats. Standard connections: R, C, Y, G, O/B.

  1. Turn off power at disconnect switch and indoor unit.
  2. Remove thermostat cover and connect wires per wiring diagram.
  3. Match colors: R (24V), C (Common), Y (Compressor), G (Fan), O/B (Reversing valve for heat pump).
  4. Secure connections and replace cover.
  5. Restore power and test operation.

Tip: Use thermostat with compatible features for optimal performance.

Operating Modes

Unit operates based on thermostat settings.

  1. Cooling Mode: Thermostat calls for cooling, compressor and fan activate.
  2. Fan Only: Indoor fan operates without compressor for air circulation.
  3. Off: System completely off.
  4. Automatic Fan: Fan operates only when cooling is needed.
  5. Continuous Fan: Fan runs continuously regardless of cooling demand.

WARNING! Do not switch between modes rapidly. Allow 5 minutes between cycles.

Maintenance Procedures

Regular maintenance ensures efficiency and longevity.

  1. Monthly: Check and replace air filters in indoor unit.
  2. Seasonal: Clean outdoor coil with gentle water spray (power off).
  3. Annual: Professional inspection including refrigerant charge, electrical connections, and coil cleaning.
  4. Winter: Cover unit during off-season to prevent debris accumulation.

CAUTION! Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
