Unpack and inspect for shipping damage. Select a suitable outdoor location.
WARNING! Installation must be performed by a qualified HVAC technician. Incorrect installation can cause property damage, personal injury, or death. Disconnect all power before servicing.
After installation, perform initial startup and system check.
CAUTION! Do not operate without correct refrigerant charge. Ensure fan guard is secure before powering on.
Primary control is via the indoor thermostat. Unit has internal protection controls.
Thermostat Operation: Set to COOL, AUTO FAN, desired temperature. System cycles automatically.
Unit Controls & LEDs: Control board includes diagnostic LED. Normal operation: steady light. Fault codes indicated by flash patterns (see Troubleshooting).
Protections: High-pressure switch, low-pressure switch, compressor overload, anti-short cycle timer (approx. 5 min).
Must be paired with a matched American Standard indoor coil (e.g., TXC) or furnace coil.
Tip: Always use a vacuum pump to evacuate the lineset and coil to below 500 microns before opening service valves.
Regular maintenance ensures efficiency and longevity. Perform at least annually, preferably before cooling season.
WARNING! Do not insert fingers or tools into fan area. Do not use a pressure washer on the coil.
High and Low Pressure Switches: Protect compressor from abnormal pressures. Compressor Overload: Internal thermal protection. Anti-Short Cycle Timer: Prevents rapid cycling. Fused Disconnect: Required for overcurrent protection.
Keep unit clear of obstructions. Clean coil annually as described. Wipe cabinet with damp cloth if needed.
CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on cabinet or coil. Never operate unit with side or top panels removed.
This product complies with applicable U.S. safety and performance standards. R-410A refrigerant is non-ozone depleting. Proper refrigerant recovery is required by EPA Section 608. | Symptom | Possible Cause | Corrective Action |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not start | Power off, thermostat setting, blown fuse/breaker, safety lockout | Check power at disconnect & breaker. Verify thermostat settings. Wait 5 mins for anti-short cycle. Check diagnostic LED. |
| Unit runs but does not cool | Dirty filter/coil, low refrigerant, faulty thermostat | Check/change indoor air filter. Clean outdoor coil. Check for ice on lines. Call technician for charge check. |
| Unit cycles on/off rapidly (short cycles) | Dirty coil, overcharge/undercharge, restricted airflow | Clean coils. Check filters and indoor blower. Call technician. |
| Loud or unusual noise | Loose parts, debris in fan, failing motor or compressor | Turn off power. Check for loose panels or debris. If internal, call technician. |
| Ice on refrigerant lines or outdoor unit | Low airflow, low refrigerant charge | Turn system OFF. Check/replace air filter. Ensure vents are open. Call technician when thawed. |
Diagnostic LED: Steady ON = normal. Flashing = fault code (refer to service manual for pattern interpretation).
