Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on level, stable pad.

  1. Position unit: Ensure minimum clearances (24" on sides, 48" above, 12" behind).
  2. Connect refrigerant lines: Braze lines to service valves using nitrogen purge.
  3. Connect electrical: Run line voltage (240V) and low-voltage thermostat wires per wiring diagram.
  4. Connect condensate drain: Attach PVC piping for heat pump defrost drainage.
  5. Evacuate and charge: Pull deep vacuum, charge with R-410A to specified weight.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified HVAC technician. Disconnect all power before servicing.

First-Time Setup

Power on system; verify proper operation.

  1. Check thermostat: Set to OFF, then COOL or HEAT mode with fan AUTO.
  2. Verify airflow: Ensure indoor blower operates, check supply registers.
  3. Check pressures: Measure high and low side pressures against charging chart.
  4. Set dip switches: Configure for matched indoor unit type (furnace, air handler).
  5. Test modes: Run cooling and heating cycles, check temperature drop/rise.

CAUTION! Ensure proper refrigerant charge for efficiency and compressor protection.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Operation controlled by compatible thermostat. Outdoor unit includes diagnostic LED.

Thermostat: Mode (COOL, HEAT, AUTO, OFF), Fan (AUTO, ON), Temperature Setpoint.

Dip Switches: Configure for indoor unit type, fan delay, thermostat type. Diagnostic LED: Flash codes for troubleshooting (1 flash = normal, 2 flashes = low pressure, etc.). Compressor Protection: Built-in time delay (5 minutes) and high/low pressure switches. Defrost Control: Automatic in heat pump mode based on time/temperature.

Connecting Components

Indoor Unit: Furnace or air handler. Thermostat: Compatible 24V control. Power: 240V circuit.

  1. Turn off all power at disconnect and indoor unit.
  2. Match wires per wiring diagram (Y, C, O/B, G, R, etc.).
  3. Connect refrigerant lines with proper insulation.
  4. Secure electrical connections with appropriate torque.

Tip: Use copper refrigerant lines only. Keep lines as short and straight as possible.

Operating Modes

Cooling, Heating (heat pump), and Fan Only modes.

  1. Cooling: Thermostat calls for cooling, compressor and outdoor fan energize.
  2. Heating: In heat pump models, reversing valve energizes for heating cycle.
  3. Defrost: Heat pump automatically reverses to melt ice on outdoor coil.
  4. Fan Only: Indoor blower operates without compressor.
  5. Emergency Heat: Heat pump models allow auxiliary heat lockout.

WARNING! Do not operate system without proper airflow. Keep outdoor unit clear of debris.

Maintenance Features

Diagnostic LED: Provides fault codes for service. Service Ports: Standard 1/4" access ports for pressure measurement. Easy Access Panels: Removable panels for electrical and refrigerant components.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Clean outdoor coil with water hose (no high pressure). Keep area around unit clear of vegetation and debris.

CAUTION! Do not use chemicals on coil fins. Do not bend fins during cleaning.
